WHAT IS COWORKING SPACE?
Coworking is the latest trend changing the game for the way small business owners and entrepreneurs work. It is a shared workplace that attracts professionals from many different industries. There are many benefits in joining a coworking space. The low cost of desk space plus the networking opportunities that are at your finger tips is a no brainer. Don’t forget the free coffee, tea, and great WI-FI! Also, most places have conference space that you can rent out for meetings. This is a big plus! Especially if you have a home office. Starbucks can get a little crowded, and its so much nicer to be in your own space.
After I left my full time 9-5 job in October, I thought “Cool, I get to work from home now.” Yes, it’s awesome to be able to get up, shower, brush my teeth to throw on my yoga pants. BUT it does get lonely at times to only have my dog Pearla to talk to. This sounds super depressing, right? Don’t get me wrong, its awesome to have a home office but sometimes a little human interaction would be nice. When you are a small business owner, funds are tight at the beginning as you build your empire. Coworking provides a space to still have the same amenities as if you had your own office at a lower cost! Think of it as a stepping stone till you get in that high-rise office! #GOALS
Here are a few coworking spots I’ve tried out in Las Vegas, and one that I would like to try out that is currently in 23 US cities & 21 countries.
BLOOM– Las Vegas (Downtown), NV
I was a member of BLOOM in Downtown Las Vegas for 4 months, and it was awesome! The space is beautiful. It screams femininity! It is very bright and airy. There are four beautiful conference rooms and an upstairs room that is the perfect space for meditation. I came to a few New and Full Moon Release Workshops at Bloom, and this room is everything! There are full and part time membership opportunities available. The owners Ginger Melien and Chelli Wolford are lovely. Thank you, ladies, for creating this gorgeous space for women to thrive!
THE COOP– Las Vegas (Summerlin), NV
I took a tour at THE COOP (which is down the street from my house) and met the owner Dana Berggren. Dana was a sweetheart, invited me to come in and work for the day, free of charge! I took Dana up on the offer, and spent my Friday at THE COOP. This space has 12 individual offices that can be rented out plus it has an open floor plan for members to cowork. There are two conference rooms and a full kitchen. This is a coed space. It is very spacious and has some cool art on the walls too! Come see Dana, she will take care of you!
WEWORK– 23 US CITIES & 21 COUNTRIES
WEWORK come to Las Vegas! This space looks very cool! WEWORK hit the ground running in 2010. The founders; Miguel McKelvey, Adam Neumann, and Rebekah Neumann wanted to build a community. A place where people work to make a life not just a living! That is their mission statement, I really like that! WEWORK offers private desk options to common area workspace memberships. There is a ton of amenities too! There are private phone booths for conference calls, mail and packaging handling services, plus craft on draft (free beer)! I look forward to checking out WEWORK next time I am in O.C or L.A. Las Vegas hopes to see you soon!
I hope you guys enjoyed this post. If you haven’t checked out a coworking space, add it to your to do list. There are many more locations popping up across the globe. Happy Coworking!
