Thank you so much for checking out my first blog post on my new website!
I wanted to use this post as an introduction to who MIA MAC is, and what I am all about. The name MIA represents my childhood, and the relationship with my dad. He has called me Mia since I was a baby. Mia means “mine” in Spanish. The MAC part is simple, it is the first few syllables of my married last name. When I was trying to figure out a name for my consulting business, I wanted to pick something that meant something to me but was not necessarily my full first and last name. When the idea for MIA MAC came to me, I couldn’t get it out of my head, so I stuck with it and here we are almost 2 years later!
Within the last 6 months I have began working with some AMAZING Beautypreneurs! The Universe put me in touch with a few awesome women, and it makes my job that much more rewarding when I am working alongside others that are just as passionate as I am about their business. I am really looking forward to the next Quarter of the year because I see a lot coming to fruition with some big accounts I have been working on for my clients. One trait you need in sales is patience. From the time you prospect a new account to closing can take many months. It’s just the name of the game, and its important to have patience and perseverance to not give up. Never take a no as a no, instead take it as a not right now.
I have learned so much in my first official year of business. I am sharing a few tips to help you grow on your journey, whether that be personal or business.
LISTEN TO YOUR GUT
If you have an idea, a thought, a dream, listen to it and make it happen! This is one thing I have been practicing all year, and it has been working to my advantage. My husband can attest to how many times he’s heard me say “I have an idea.” LOL. You may not have all the details on how it is going to work out but believe me it will all come together. When I first started my business, I didn’t really know how it was going to work out, and at the time I thought I had to have every little detail figured out but now that I look back, I would have saved myself a lot of unneeded stress, if I just trusted the process.
FIND YOUR TRIBE
As you are going through this thing called entrepreneurship, it is so important to have a tribe of likeminded people going through the same things you are. I have connected with so many awesome women in various groups I am a part of, and it has been such a blessing! Often the entrepreneur journey can be a little lonely because we are normally always working on our business while our friends are off living their lives. Make it a point to find “YOUR TRIBE”. The internet makes this so easy because in a few clicks, you can easily connect to others in your city or across the world!
DON’T BE AFRAID TO FAIL
“Don’t be afraid to fail. Be afraid not to try.” – Michael Jordan
The F word is a part of life, and it should not stop you from trying to do anything you want to do. When I was at the beginning phases of my business, there were times where I thought “Can I really do this”. I always had the “What is the worst thing that could happen” type of vibe and thought that if I didn’t at least try then I would never know what could have been. So, I am here to tell you the same thing. Don’t be afraid to fail. It is going to happen, and you must learn from it, and move on. We are all learning as we go, and no one has it all figured out. In the end we only regret the chances we didn’t take.
I hope these tips help you kick ass in your business and personal life! Stay tuned for more posts on all things Life, Entrepreneurship, and Beauty!
